Code of Conduct
We welcome people of all backgrounds, abilities, and goals. Encourage your teammates and contribute to a supportive atmosphere. In order to foster a positive environment, we ask you to respect the following code of conduct.
Respect Your Training Partners and Instructors
Treat everyone with respect, regardless of rank or experience. We’re all here to learn and grow together. Our school is inclusive, welcoming people from diverse backgrounds. Racial or sexual discrimination will not be tolerated.
Leave Your Ego at the Door
BJJ is a journey of continuous improvement. Tap early and often, and don’t take “losses” personally. Being able to learn through mistakes is a commendable trait. Sometimes it is smarter to train to learn than to train to win.
Practice Cleanliness
Keep yourself and your gear clean. Trim your nails, wash your feet before class and wash your training gear after every session. Wear slippers outside of the mat and especially in the bathroom.
Be Mindful of Safety
Always prioritise your partner’s safety. Apply techniques with control and tap or signal if you feel discomfort or risk of injury. Be mindful of your surroundings and know the rules.
Be On Time and Ready to Train
Try to be on time for the class. It is completely okay to be late, as long as you did your best to show up and make the best of your training.
Ask Questions, Stay Curious
Don’t be afraid to address any coach about technical difficulties. We are always happy to help and learn.
