Frequently
Asked
Questions

How do I schedule my first class?

You can schedule your first class through our website, or by contacting us by email. Whilst all classes are open to all levels, we suggest you try out the fundamentals class if you’ve never practiced Jiu-Jitsu before or are a recent white belt.

Do I need to bring any special equipment for my trial week?

During your trial week, you can borrow a Gi and a rash guard from us. Please bring shorts without zippers and a pair of slippers. We also recommend bringing a water bottle, as well as personal hygiene items such as soap and a clean towel.

Can I try a class before committing to a membership?

Yes, we offer a free trial week for new members.

What is your gym's policy on drop-in fees for visitors?

We don’t charge drop-in fees for visitors from other gyms. It’s a genuine invitation to come and train, whether you’re traveling, exploring new environments or are simply eager to roll with new partners. Our goal is to foster lasting bonds within the BJJ community, creating a welcoming space where learning is shared freely.

Can I freeze my membership?

We offer the option to pause memberships at our discretion, assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How do you keep the gym clean?

We prioritise hygiene to ensure a clean and safe environment for all our members. Our mats are vacuumed and scrubbed after every class, and we clean the studio frequently to maintain high standards of cleanliness. Your health and comfort are our top priorities.

What personal hygiene steps do I need to take?

  • Please ensure you wear clean training gear for every training session.
  • Keep your fingernails and toenails trimmed short to prevent injury and maintain cleanliness.
  • Before stepping onto the mats, wash your feet and wear slippers when leaving the mats.
  • If you suspect you have a skin infection, please refrain from participating in class. Even if it seems like a minor issue, such as a bite, it could still be contagious and potentially spread. Your cooperation helps keep our training environment safe and hygienic for everyone.

Do I need any experience to start Jiu-Jitsu?

We welcome everyone, whether you’re an experienced grappler or a complete beginner.

Are we allowed to cross train?

Of course! Cross training is a good opportunity to get exposed to new training partners and other styles. Make sure to be respectful guest whenever you visit an open mat!
